St. David’s Medical Center Water Feature

Material: Cordova Cream Texas Limestone

Year: 2014

This 2 1/2 story water feature was a commissioned piece that I carved and helped design for the Saint David’s Medical Center in downtown Austin, Texas. It is located in the large atrium/lobby area and is open to the public. It took a full year to carve, but the planning took an extra 3 years when it was all said and done. Schneider Halls Design in Austin, Texas(now brought me in on the job and Sabre Commercial, Inc. in Austin, Texas was the general contractor. It was a real honor for me to be involved in this project because it was the hospital that I was born in.

Side note: We had a difficult time finding the right image to carve for this section of the water feature, so I decided to find some models and photograph them in a pose that would be original and appropriate for the piece.
